What Is Animal Chiropractic?
Animal chiropractic is a hands-on approach focused on joint motion, movement quality, neuromuscular function, and the way an animal uses its body.
Dr. Stephen Ford evaluates the animal’s movement and relevant joints before determining whether chiropractic care is appropriate. Gentle, specific adjustments may be used to address areas of restricted motion and support more comfortable, efficient movement.
Animal chiropractic complements appropriate veterinary care. It does not replace veterinary diagnosis, emergency care, medication, surgery, or treatment for disease.

Show animals are athletes in their own way. Travel, handling, conditioning, footing, growth, and presentation can place meaningful demands on how they move.
Dr. Ford can evaluate eligible FFA, 4-H, and livestock show animals with an emphasis on joint mobility, movement symmetry, comfort, and function. Care is tailored to the species, age, condition, and demands placed on the animal.
Chiropractic care does not guarantee show placement or replace veterinary oversight. Exhibitors should also follow all event, medication, withdrawal-time, animal-welfare, and veterinary requirements that apply to their program or competition.

Mobile appointments allow animals to be evaluated in a familiar, practical setting while reducing unnecessary transportation—especially for horses, livestock, multi-animal households, and older pets.
Barn & Stable Calls
On-site equine appointments are available for private barns, boarding facilities, training programs, and competition horses throughout the service area.
Farm & Show-Animal Calls
Dr. Ford can travel to farms and agricultural facilities for eligible livestock, FFA, 4-H, and show-animal evaluations.
Appropriate Home Visits
Home visits may be available for dogs, senior pets, and other eligible animals when the location and circumstances are appropriate for safe care.
Multi-Animal Appointments
Owners, trainers, barns, farms, and clubs may request coordinated visits for more than one animal at the same location. Availability, travel range, scheduling, and applicable travel fees are confirmed directly with Dr. Ford before the appointment.

On-Site Movement Assessment
At the barn, farm, stable, home, or other agreed setting, Dr. Ford reviews relevant history and evaluates posture, gait, movement, and joint motion to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate.
Individualized Care
When appropriate, specific adjustments are provided and the owner receives practical guidance regarding activity, follow-up, and veterinary coordination.

ACCC stands for the Animal Chiropractic Certification Commission of the AVCA, which administers the professional animal chiropractic certification program. ACCC/AVCA certification means that a licensed chiropractor or veterinarian has completed qualifying postgraduate animal chiropractic education and passed comprehensive written and clinical competency examinations. Certification is voluntary, must be maintained through continuing education, and is separate from professional licensure. Dr. Ford received his animal chiropractic certification in 2016.
