A Movement-Focused Approach

What Is Animal Chiropractic?

Animal chiropractic is a hands-on approach focused on joint motion, movement quality, neuromuscular function, and the way an animal uses its body.

Dr. Stephen Ford evaluates the animal’s movement and relevant joints before determining whether chiropractic care is appropriate. Gentle, specific adjustments may be used to address areas of restricted motion and support more comfortable, efficient movement.

Animal chiropractic complements appropriate veterinary care. It does not replace veterinary diagnosis, emergency care, medication, surgery, or treatment for disease.

  • Individualized examination before care
  • Care matched to the animal’s size, age, activities, and needs
  • Emphasis on mobility, comfort, function, and performance
  • Coordination with the animal’s veterinarian when required or appropriate
Animals & Activities

Care Across Sport, Show & Everyday Life

Animal chiropractic may be considered for active competitors, working and show animals, family companions, and older animals whose movement needs have changed.

Equine Athletes

Movement and performance support for hunter-jumper, dressage, barrel racing, rodeo, trail, ranch, pleasure, and other equine disciplines.

Sporting & Working Dogs

Care for agility, obedience, dock diving, field, hunting, working, show, and other canine sporting activities.

FFA & Show Animals

Mobility and comfort support for eligible livestock and agricultural show animals, including animals preparing for handling and presentation.

Older Pets

Age-conscious care intended to support comfortable movement, mobility, and quality of daily activity alongside veterinary management.

Everyday Wellness & Mobility

Companion animals do not need to compete to benefit from a movement assessment. Owners may seek care when an animal appears stiff, moves differently, has difficulty with familiar activities, or needs supportive musculoskeletal care as part of an overall wellness plan.

Support for Show-Animal Movement & Comfort

Show animals are athletes in their own way. Travel, handling, conditioning, footing, growth, and presentation can place meaningful demands on how they move.

Dr. Ford can evaluate eligible FFA, 4-H, and livestock show animals with an emphasis on joint mobility, movement symmetry, comfort, and function. Care is tailored to the species, age, condition, and demands placed on the animal.

Chiropractic care does not guarantee show placement or replace veterinary oversight. Exhibitors should also follow all event, medication, withdrawal-time, animal-welfare, and veterinary requirements that apply to their program or competition.
